Our mission is to ...
PROMOTE SHARED INTERESTS
The members of the Durango Regional Horse Coalition share the common goal of promoting equestrian and agricultural interests in southwest Colorado.

We are committed to creating a regional facility to serve the residents of the greater Durango area and draw participants from other parts of the West and the nation.

We envision a multi-use community facility available throughout the year, a gathering place for a wide variety of purposes:

  • Equestrian events with local, regional or national sponsorship.

  • Youth activities and boarding for 4-H groups, drill teams, Junior Rodeo.

  • County Fair and CSU Extension programs.

  • Therapeutic riding programs.

  • Clinics by local and national experts.

  • Local use for training and schooling.

  • Dog obedience and agility trials; livestock and tractor shows; other auctions and sales.

  • General interest events and seminars; meeting room; banquet facility.

BENEFIT OUR COMMUNITY

The value of this all-weather, multi-purpose regional facility will extend far beyond the livestock industries.
The facility will:

  • Bring increased income to direct markets (feed, bedding and tack stores, etc.).

  • Benefit the hospitality and tourism industries.

  • Protect area income stream from seasonal fluctuations.

  • Improve local tax revenues.

  • Enhance the quality of life for all of us.

PRESERVE OUR HERITAGE

For more than 150 years people in our area have taken pride in strong pioneer and ranching roots. We want our region to keep its special western flavor. Our Regional Equestrian and Livestock Facility will provide opportunities to carry that heritage forward for the enjoyment of future generations.
